Susan Drummond MSN, RN, C-EFM
Department of OBGYN, Associate in Obstetrics Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Susan Drummond received her BSN and MSN from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and is a Senior Associate in Obstetrics in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her primary responsibility is providing continuing education courses through the Tennessee Perinatal Regionalization Program. She also works in Labor and Delivery where she has 27 years of experience as both a staff and charge nurse. She has been teaching EFM for over 20 years to nursing and medical students, nurses, and physicians. She is an AWHONN instructor in Intermediate and Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring. She is certified in EFM by both the National Certification Corporation and the Perinatal Quality Foundation. She speaks nationally in the areas of electronic fetal monitoring and high-risk obstetrics and is published in the areas of high-risk and critical care obstetric nursing.

Suzanne McMurtry Baird DPN,RN
President, Clinical Concepts in Obstetrics

Dr. Baird is a graduate of Rush College of Nursing's Doctoral in Nursing Practice Executive Leadership Track and Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she received both her MSN and BSN. Suzanne has extensive clinical experience in obstetrical nursing, both practice and education. Currently she is working as a clinical coach and consultant for her company, Clinical Concepts in Obstetrics. In her most recent clinical position she served as the Assistant Director of Nursing Clinical Program Development at Texas Children’s Hospital where she was responsible for setting up the Obstetric Intensive Care Unit. She has numerous peer reviewed publications focusing on care of high risk and critically ill pregnant women, fetal monitoring and legal issues in obstetric nursing. She is a highly sought after speaker and has presented to both nurses and physicians across the country. She serves on the board of editors for the Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing and has a new textbook out - the 5th edition of Intrapartum Management Modules.
